The Boston MassacreA brawl broke out between colonists and soldiers in Boston, the same day that Parliament repealed the Townshend Acts. In the end, ten Bostonians were injured and five were dead. Patriots called this incident the Boston Massacre. The British troops, no matter what, were forbidden to fire on citizens, which cause patriots to be more ruthless.
Mob Violence Breaks Out On March 5, 1770, a mob started throwing rocks at troops, who tired to persuade the colonists to go home, along with the commander, Captain Thomas Preston. But it didn't have any affect. When one of the soldiers got knocked down, the troops panicked and open fired. Crispus Attucks was the first to die, but not the last. The colonists finally went home, when they promised that te soldiers were gonna be tried for murder. Massacre or Self-Defense Sam Adams called the riot a "horrid massacre" and got Paul Revere to engrave a picture of it. These were distributed throughout the colonies, and everyone had a different opinion about it. John Adams, Sam Adams brother, believed that everyone had the right to a fair trial, and defended the British soldiers in trial.
